Instrument Rating

Want to improve your flying? Tired of the marine layer or some other weather preventing you from getting where you want to go?

Stage 1

Take the skills you learned during your Private Pilot training and apply them to instrument flying. Use view limiting devices to simulate flying in clouds and other weather. Learn how to utilize the Cirrus Interactive Flight Operations Manual for IFR flying. Utilize our FAA certified AATD to maximize your instrument training.

Stage 2

After gaining positive control of the airplane under simulated instrument conditions you learn how to navigate via navigational aids and conduct instrument approach training. You learn to maximize your capabilities in a single pilot instrument environment. Training is conducted to simulate real world scenarios by combining simulator training with real world flying. You will fly in a multitude of weather conditions to improve your knowledge and enhance safety.

Stage 3

Conduct your long instrument cross country flight. Prepare for the checkride with your instructor. Practice the skills learned early on in your instrument training. Your checkride adds your instrument rating to your Private Pilot Certificate and your journey as a Pilot in Command has a new milestone.
